너 아니면 안돼
A sad song. (: But nice one nonetheless.

Exams in less than 2 weeks time so the BATTLE MODE is on.
The battle mode is more or less the same every year, I just really need to keep to it. I think it will help a lot if leeweenam isn’t so super cold. I was just telling my friend that winter wear is fast becoming a need while studying there. But thank God that these few days have been sort of productive and I’m really hoping I can keep to it!
So far everything is great and I’m coping well. But just feeling really drained because of all the frustration (due to the module) which is causing me to not been sleeping well. Since the start of the week I have been having the long and silly dreams every night. I must thank God that at least the dreams aren’t nightmares! But those nonsensical and entertaining dreams are so long that when I wake up I feel like I hadn’t slept at all!
Why so draining?
I pray that I will have a good night rest tonight. At least a dreamless one! I don’t want to dream of fyp and fyp profs. But I got a feeling that once the exam week kicks in I will confirm have my semesterly exam-related dreams. The top on the list is always dreaming that I was late for a paper. CONFIRM will come out one. The second one should be dreaming that I sat for the wrong paper, don’t know why always dream about this kind of thing. The last one would be dreaming that my calculator spoilt in the middle of my exam. All can lead to panic attacks can!
I need to relax. HOHO. (and sleep well!)
Anyway, a few albums are rocking my ipod these days! Want to know what/who?
One of the hottest (pun intended) album releases in the kpop scene right now has got to be 2pm’s 1st full length album. Appropriately titled “1:59pm”, the album has been topping charts for very obvious good reasons. I personally like quite a few tracks off the album and I will be sad if the fans don’t support it. I mean it’s lacking cause Jay isn’t there but the other 6 members worked hard for it too. I’m loving the Bossa Nova ver. of 돌아올지도 몰라! It has a very different feel from the original R&B feel. And my personal fave at the moment is 기다리다 지친다. The pyramid dance is how cool! I want to see it in perf!
The next one is John Mayer’s Battle Studies. The title caught my eyes! I think it was the word studies or something lol. Overall the album has a good sound, I’m liking it quite a bit. But not sure if it’s me or what but I’m finding the lyrics very emo and sad. All the talks about heartbreaks, lonely, not belonging to anyone, not lovers nor friends… Hahah oh well. Don’t tell me he is still nursing a heartbreak! In anycase, the album has a mellow sound, I like it!
Okay that’s all for now I should probably go now. Eyes are non-existent already. LOL
Goodnight world and goodnight FYP queen! Hehehe!
It’s always TVXQ forever.
Although the influx of new groups have brought much variety and laughter, it has always been TVXQ. Whether they are in Japan or Korea. Whether they are having contract disputes or they have been up to solo acts and businesses. There are bad times for them but good things going on as well. I was especially glad to be hearing much from Jaejoongie and Yoochun. The two of them are doing well together aren’t they?
I think I mentioned that I love their track on m-flo tribute album (Been So Long) and they recently did well on the oricon charts with Colors~Melody and Harmony~. I just watched a live performance of the latter on Youtube and I must say I really miss seeing the boys around
The live performance was good because the arrangement was a little different from the album and I like the handshake thingy they do at the start. And how they ended the song. Awww, seriously miss seeing the boys around!
The Live.
The Album.
And as a bonus one of my favorite ballad from them, they performed Begin too. Much love! Jae and Chun did well but I still love the song when the whole group sang together
Stupid dispute please be settled soon!
It’s always TVXQ forever.
Liking the sound!
Thanks to Becky, I now have more nice things to listen to.
The Michael Jackson Medley is simply amazing.
Have a listen~
Love this song! Love SNSD's cover.![]()
Clazziquai Project.
Frequent korean pop lovers will not find the name Clazziquai (클래지콰이) unfamiliar because I believed they have been receiving a fair deal of love back in Korea for some years already. But for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, Clazziquai, which means Classic+Jazz+Groove is a fusion band from South Korea. They are a three-membered band that consists of DJ Clazzi (Kim Sung Hoon), Horan (Choi Soo Jin) and Alex (my love!) (Chu Hon Gon). The band’s sound consists of a mix of electronic, acid jazz and house.
I have to admit I wasn’t a big fan of the electronic and house part they had to offer but a number of reasons made me slowly changed my mind. I actually like their Pop and Bossa Nova side more, although I think they tried to do a good balance of the genres that they love. They have since released a number of good and interestingly done albums which I think deserved some form of recognition for the good jobs done.
But of course, when people talk about Clazziquai, people talk about Alex. How can we not talk about the charming vocals behind this band? Horan and Alex shares the role of vocalist in this group while DJ Clazzi is more the mixer and producer type. I don’t know much about Horan but Alex is no stranger to most people. If you don’t know him already as the charming handsome lad from clazziquai, you will know him as the loving and next-to-impossible charismatic husband in the once popular korean reality show We Got Married. If not, you will love him as the sweet and charming (I keep thinking charming is the only way to describe him!) voice behind his solo album, My Vintage Romance (which is another post on its own).

Clazziquai. (That my Alex looking good in white. (: )
Okay, my point is actually not to gush about Alex but to really recommend a few songs by clazziquai that you should give it a try. They are really good musicians, and their music is not your everyday mainstream type (although there is nothing wrong with being mainstream). So just click a few clicks and let them charm you with what they are good at! (:
10 Clazziquai Songs You should listen
1.Romeo & Juliette (from album: Love Child of the Century)
This is their first song that I heard and was loving it quite a bit already. First I really like the music, second I really thought Alex sang very well! His voice was deep and mellow and just plain charming, I really don’t know how to further emphasize that point, go listen! (:
2. Lover Boy (from album: Love Child of the Century)
This a more upbeat and more pop song from the same album. It is the type of song that makes you feel happy after listening to it even though you have no idea what they are singing about (since it’s in korean). I think Michelle calls this kinda song “Summer song”. Hahah anyway, the melody and vocals are good, so definitely worth many replays.
3. Color Your Soul (from album: Color Your Soul)
I find the song pretty cool, I don’t really know how to say but it’s the feel, all the saxaphone (I believe) and Alex’s voice made it pretty impressive. I like the beat quite a far bit. (:
4. Dance (from album: Color Your Soul)
Nice, soothing song. I always love it when Horan and Alex duets (sometimes they just sing individually on different tracks), they go quite well together. This song has a more Bossa Nova feel, I really like it when they do this genre, but I don’t think they do it often enough. Heh.
5. Beat in Love (from album: Beat in Love)
Switching from the smooth bossa nova number to this upbeat electronica song just shows how versatile Clazziquai is. I like the intro pretty much and the song is basically very cheerful and chirpy. I like! It’s in English although it’s from their Japanese album. Haha whatever language it is, it’s still nice. (: Don’t like the MV by the way.
6. She is (from album: My Lovely Samsoon OST)
I wonder if this song needs any introduction at all, since afterall this is the song that made many people notice Clazziquai’s music. Although it was the theme song for a drama, it was very well-received and propelled the band into much limelight. Alex showed his charming vocals once again in this song.
7. Chocolate Truffles (from album: Mucho Musica)
Personal favourite now! Solo number by Alex from their latest album. The whole song is in English so we won’t have a problem understanding it. But then again, it’s a cute, smooth pop number, with lyrics like “The gingerbread man is holding cupcakes”, I don’t think we need to think too much about lyrics huh. I cannot say this enough can I? I Love Love Alex’s deep and smooth voice! Anyway, this song is laid-back, happy and easy on the ears. I love it man.
8. Talk A Walk (from album: Mucho Musica)
Slow number from Horan and I’m liking the melody. Horan sings really well too! The song doesn’t feel happy but it’s soft so I’m loving it. (:
9. Tell Yourself (from album: Mucho Musica)
I like this catchy song! I especially think that the intro is cute! Go listen for yourself to find out why. But overall, the song is a upbeat, perky and joyful. I’m liking the beat (:
10.라푼젤 (from album: Mucho Punk)
I don’t know if this song is considered slow or medium or what but it’s hauntingly good. It’s not too upbeat nor is it too slow. Once again it’s Alex stealing the show with his smooth and earnest rendition of the song. (:
Alright, the ten songs are done and I hope you guys will give Clazziquai the support and the love because I think their sound is really not too bad at all! (: I will be back with more top 10 lists of other artistes (like Dashboard and Toho!) ! (:
Good music is worth the love <3 (:
Some SM loves.
With my favourite band (Dongbang) busy in Japan now, it’s time for some Super Junior loves already. Recently, they went on a music show called Music Travel with SNSD and performed a couple of songs really well. I mean I know Kyu and Ryeowook can sing and stuff but seeing Sungmin belt out an acoustic number so wonderfully just made me really happy. (: I just watched the videos and I must say I am really impressed with the boys. And surprisingly, Sunny from SNSD harmonizes really well with Sungmin on the duet, I didn’t know she sings. Hahahah. But loving Taeyeon’s voice as always. (:
SNSD’s cover of Sorry Sorry
I’m really liking Taeyeon’s voice. Reminds me a lot of her performances with Sunye during the Gayo Daejuns last year. Wonderful. They should just let her sing all the parts in all SNSD’s songs. Hahah.
Super Junior’s cover of Gee
This is a really nice cover of Gee! I still like IU’s version the best but this really comes close! (: Plus it’s kinda different when the guys sang it… so it’s good. I’m impressed, really. (:
Sungmin+Sunny’s Falling Slowly
This is for caroline! Sungmin not only is handsome but obviously can sing pretty well too! I once again think that he should be given more parts in Super Junior’s songs. :\ Give him more!
Jessica+Taeyeon+Kyuhyun+Donghae’s Way Back Into Love
They sang so well in English! I am loving this performance the best out of the lot because they did it so well (: Hard to not like Kyu and Taeyeon’s voices that blended so nicely in this song. I couldn’t hear Donghae well though but overall, beautiful rendition of the lovely song. Nicely done!
Okay right now I’m at Seoul! Happy as can be and enjoying myself way too much. (:
Geez.
It’s no secret that I no fan of SNSD. I don’t diss them, I just don’t find their ” music ” appealing. But imagine my pleasant shock when a 15 years old girl from Korea, took their latest hit song, Gee, and turned it into such a nice song! Give this girl a proper album already!
IU’s(don’t ask me why her name is so, I have no idea too) SUPER DUPER nice version of Gee:
It’s been on replay for more than an hour from now, although it’s just a short 1min plus.
Would really love to have her record a full version of this song. Or any other song actually. She can sing! And I’m really loving her acoustic mix by the way..
Oh ya for those who has no idea of Gee or SNSD(I don’t really blame you), here’s the MV. Don’t worry it’s only my second time seeing it also. Hahah.
Give IU a good album release soonish okay!
New York State of Mind.
Got to love this song you know (: I love Ken Hirai’s rendition of it, really I do, though I find his voice a tad too high for this song, but I still prefer Billy Joel’s performance more.. Gotta love the piano playing musician and his saxophone buddy yeah. (:
Billy Joel’s Perf.
Ken Hirai’s Perf.
Alright, the weekend is over. BUMMER.
The Secret Code.
Dashboard is one of my favourite band, and I share equal, or if not more love for Tohoshinki. (: I’m glad that their recent Japanese album did rather well on the charts. Although I’m a little sad that most of the tracks in the album have already been released as singles (thus left with little new songs to fawn about), I still think it was overall GOOD. T was better but The Secret Code is still good. I guess it’s hard to make something bad when you have 5 guys who can sing so well, with impressive and skillful songwriters and producers.
And when I say they sing well, they really do.
When younger artistes do remakes of famous songs, there is always a good chance of them spoiling it. Somehow the impression that the old version is always better lingers longer than you first intended it to. I love Smap (especially after the show Pride) and Lion heart was my first Japanese song (I think) and I must say Tohoshinki did so well with the cover recently. Check it out for yourself (:
It was recorded with a live band at a Japanese music show recently. The arrangement is quite different from the original piece but it’s seriously good! They started off with a short group harmonizing opening and I really appreciate min’s part in this, partly because his harmonization was so distinct. It kind of brought the song to a real good start. (They look very good in black suits btw)
Jae started the first verse beautifully, I totally love his voice. He sang it very gently with great control and I like the way he looked so earnest yet confident when he croons. Junsu took over and he sang it consistently well. I liked hearing Yoochun sings the bridge because of his smexy (for a lack of better words) voice. Then it’s right back to my Jae for the chorus (: (: Jae has got a real good voice and he uses it perfectly, everytime when Tohoshinki’s songs reaches the chorus and it’s being handled by Jae, I really get the goosebumps because it’s so good. Jae pronounces the Lion heart pretty well in this song hahaha.
Yunho took the second verse and his deep voice added a new touch to the song and I must really say he improved quite a lot. Min was next and I liked how Junsu came in with the flawless harmonizing. Good match. Junsu with the next chorus and Yoochun with the bridge again. The way they arranged for Yoochun to sing the bridge was rather appriopriate, it makes people anticipate the chorus.
The song ended well with Jae and Junsu chorus duet and a group harmonizing effort the way they started. Super good performance, they should do this often! (: Their appearances on a few Japanese variety shows are making me laugh out loud. (:
